This guide explains how to onboard Rolec chargers to the Fuuse platform by configuring the charger to communicate with the Fuuse.
1. Download the Rolec EV Connect app
Please note that installer access is required.
Configuration is typically completed using the Rolec EV Connect App. Download the Rolec EV Connect app from the App Store or Google Play and log in.
2. Connect to the Charger via Bluetooth
Enable Bluetooth on your mobile/tablet device.
Select the charger from the list or tap 'Search for devices' (The phone will scan for the charge
point Bluetooth signal). Note that all charge points within the range of the Bluetooth signal will be listed. If more than one is listed, you will need to know which charge point you want to connect to.-
Once the charge point is known, tap the MAC address and ID text to select it and move onto the password entry screen.
Open the Rolec EV Connect app
Log in as Installer and use the pin/password as shown on the QR code label on the charger (note, this could also be displayed on the inside of the charger).
Once you have entered the password, press the 'Connect' button
3. Set the Endpoint Configuration
Navigate to the Endpoint settings and configure the following:
OCPP Version:
OCPP 1.6J-
Set the Endpoint to wss://smes.hw.fuuse.io/
-
Security:
WebSocket Secure (WSS) enabled
Save the settings.
3. Network Connectivity
Ensure the charger has a stable internet connection:
Select Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or SIM
Enter credentials if using Wi-Fi.
-
If using Fuuse sim cards, ensure the 'Network Interface' is set to "GSM_COMM_INTERFACE" and enter the following SIM APN settings
APN: tel.mobius.cxn
Username: mobiustel
Password: mobiustel
5. Reboot the Charger
Allow the charger to reboot fully.
This may take several minutes.
6. Verify Connection in Fuuse
Log in to Fuuse via https://app.fuuse.io/
Navigate to your site and charger, confirm the charger appears online by checking the last communicated date and time field. If this says "unknown" the charger has not yet communicated with Fuuse
-
Check that:
Heartbeats are being received
Status updates correctly (Available / Preparing / Charging / Finishing)
If you don't have access to the Fuuse back office, you can click on the following link and enter your charger's serial number https://app.fuuse.io/chargeronboarding
Load the page, enter the charger's serial number (please exclude any space or special characters e.g. ensure the serial number appears in this format RolecDMA1234) and click 'load hardware'
You can conform connectivity by locating the "Charger communicating" option and ensuring this has a green 'tick'
7. Final Checks
Please note, the charger must be added to Fuuse to perform the following
Perform a test charge.
-
Confirm:
Start/stop commands work (via manual actions in Fuuse, RFID, app, contactless etc)
Status changes correctly in Fuuse after plug in and charging
There is a session in the session log after a charge has completed
