Overview
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is now available on the Fuuse portal for all users who log in with an email address and password. MFA adds a second layer of security to your account — after entering your password, you'll verify your identity either using an authenticator app on your phone or via a code sent to your email address.
This applies to email and password users only. If your organisation uses Single Sign-On (SSO), MFA is managed by your own identity provider and nothing changes for you.
Who does this affect?
Login method | MFA required? |
|---|---|
Email and password | ✅ Yes — you will be prompted to set up MFA |
Single Sign-On (SSO) | ❌ No — MFA is handled by your identity provider |
What you'll need
You can verify using either of the following methods:
Authenticator app — a free app installed on your smartphone. We recommend Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator (both available on iOS and Android).
Email verification — a one-time code sent to your registered email address. No additional setup required.
Setting up MFA for the first time
The first time you log in after MFA is enabled, you'll be guided through a one-time setup that takes around 2 minutes.
Log in to the Fuuse portal with your email and password as normal.
Choose your preferred verification method — authenticator app or email.
If using an authenticator app: open your app, tap Add account (or the + button), scan the QR code shown on screen, then enter the 6-digit code to complete setup.
If using email: a code will be sent to your registered email address. Enter it when prompted to complete setup.
Once enrolled, you'll verify your identity using your chosen method each time you log in.
Logging in after MFA is set up
Enter your email and password as normal.
Verify using your chosen method:
Authenticator app: open the app, find your Fuuse entry, and enter the current 6-digit code.
Email: check your inbox for a verification code and enter it when prompted.
Lost access to your authenticator app?
If you lose your phone or can no longer access your authenticator app, your portal admin can reset your MFA from the User Management page. You'll be prompted to re-enrol on your next login.
For admins — how to reset a user's MFA:
Go to Organisation > Users in the portal.
Find the relevant user in the list.
Select Reset MFA from the user's action menu.
Confirm the reset when prompted.
⚠️ Only users with the Admin role can see and use this control. If you are the admin and need your own MFA reset, please contact Fuuse Support.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to set up MFA every time I log in?
No. Setup only happens once. After that you'll verify your identity using your chosen method at each login.
What verification methods are available?
You can verify using a TOTP authenticator app (such as Microsoft or Google Authenticator) or via a code sent to your registered email address.
What if I get a new phone?
Ask your portal admin to reset your MFA so you can re-enrol with your new device. See the section above.
Does this affect the Fuuse mobile app?
This article covers the Fuuse portal (web interface for operators). Mobile app MFA is handled separately.
I use SSO — do I need to do anything?
No. Your organisation's identity provider handles authentication and MFA independently.
