Note: Before adding a charger to your network, you must first create a location. If you haven't already done this, please refer to our guide on setting up charging locations.
Step 1: navigate to Network > Locations - find your charging location and click on the arrow to see details.
Step 2: Click on the Add Charger button and fill in the following details
General Details and Access
- OCPP Hardware ID: This is your charger's Serial Number (OCPP ID), which can usually be found on a sticker on the charger or on the packaging it came in. If your charger has already been pointed to Fuuse, a message will appear confirming that it has been found. If no message appears, don't worry - you can still continue. It simply means you'll need to make sure the charger is pointed to Fuuse and commissioned before it can be used.
- Charger Communication Type is set to 1.6 Default . Note: Your hardware provider will state if your chargers are OCPP 1.6-compliant; most are. OCPP 2.0 – This is rarer at the moment
You will then need to set Charger Access, Click the Drop down to choose from Public, Private, Workplace or Private, Domestic. Note: Selecting Private/Domestic will apply a randomised delay and charging schedule. You can find more information about this here. If you don't want your chargers to be limited to 6 amps outside the scheduled hours, simply remove these settings.

Connector Details
- Select the number of connectors your charger has. For example, if your charger has one socket, select 1 connector. If it has two sockets, select 2 connectors, and so on.
- Enter a connector name for each of the sockets, note that these need to be unique. 💡Tip: add a number to identify each socket.
- If you have selected 2 or 3 connectors, please leave the connector number fields as they are, please do not replace them with charger names or serial numbers.
- Max Power - The maximum rated power output of the connector in kW (e.g. 7kW, 22kW, 50kW, etc).
- Connector Type - Select the connector type from the dropdown box. The documentation from the manufacturer should inform you which is the correct choice for your EVSE.
- Power Type - Select the power type from the dropdown box (select AC for chargers up to 22kW, for 50kW and above, please select DC).
- Format - Select whether your connector is in the form of a socket or a cable. If you are using a tethered connection (no cable required), please select 'cable' in the back office. For an untethered connection (cable required), you should select 'socket.'
- Live Mode - Toggle this on when you are ready for the charger to be live in Fuuse. It will then be added to your invoice as per your agreed terms. Non-live chargers can still be used, but may be restricted. Once a charger is marked as live, it cannot be reverted.
- Free vend mode - Toggle this on if you wish to offer charging for free. As soon as a vehicle is plugged into the charger, a "Start charging" command will be sent. Any sessions will be anonymous and free.
Step 3: Once you are happy with all of your settings, click on the Save Charger button.
The EVSE configuration is now complete. If you need to add more charger, repeat the above steps.
🎉You’re all set!
Your charging location is now ready to use. If you need to make a change in the future, such as adding or removing EVSEs, this can be done by returning to the charging location section and editing your chosen location.
If you wish to perform this process for another organisation, please refer the following guide on how to switch organisations and repeat the steps in this guide.
