1. What Session Cost Allocation is for
If you run vehicles that charge for free at your site, customer service cars, stock, demos or staff vehicles, Session Cost Allocation lets you tag each charging session with a vehicle reference and, optionally, a cost centre. That way you can see exactly which vehicle or department a session belongs to, instead of the cost being absorbed across the whole site with no visibility.
2. Before you start
Session Cost Allocation must be turned on for the charger you want to use. If you're not sure whether it's enabled at your site, check with your Fuuse administrator or see "Turning on Session Cost Allocation for your chargers".
You'll need to be signed in to the Fuuse portal to use this page.
3. Starting a tagged charge session
- Plug the vehicle into the charger you want to use.
- Open the "Start a charge session" page.
- Choose the "Location" for the session.
- Choose the "Charger". Only chargers that are currently available can be selected, chargers that are busy, offline or otherwise unavailable are shown with their status but can't be chosen.
- Enter a "Vehicle reference". This is a required field, enter the registration, VIN, or any other reference that identifies the vehicle. There's no set format, so this also works for new or pre-registration vehicles that don't have a plate yet.
- Optionally, enter a "Cost centre", for example, Service, Demo or Sales. Use whatever label makes sense for your organisation; there's no fixed list to choose from.
- Select "Start charging". This button is only enabled once the location, charger and vehicle reference are filled in.
You'll see a brief "Starting charge..." message while the session is set up, please don't navigate away from the page while this is happening.
4. While the session is active
Once the session starts, you'll see a "Session active" screen showing the location, charger, vehicle reference, cost centre, start time, running duration and energy delivered so far (this updates automatically while charging is in progress).
If something goes wrong while starting the session, you'll see an error message with a reference ID, contact the Fuuse support team and quote this ID if you need help.
5. Ending the session
- Select "Stop charging".
- Confirm by selecting "Stop session" in the pop-up, or "Cancel" to keep charging.
Once the session ends, you'll see a "Session complete" summary with the final duration and energy used. Select "Start another session" to tag and start a new charge straight away.
6. Where to find the session data
Tagged sessions are recorded in the Fuuse portal alongside your other charging sessions. You can find the vehicle reference and cost centre for a session via Session Log › Download Report.
Note: if a session doesn't start, or you can't see the charger you expect, contact the Fuuse support team, if you were shown an error reference ID, please include it.
